Minutes of the Open Meeting held on Wednesday 16 August 2017 at Jean’s House

Matters Arising:

Cyclos: we decided to use the planned questionnaire (see below) to find out about any what kind of help members may need in using Cyclos.

Officers’ Reports:

Jean had an enquiry from a prospective member living in Aylesbury.

Membership: no report.

Sterling Treasurer reported a credit balance of £237.29

Buzzard Treasurers Report is attached below

Sue (255) will be paid at the rate of 6 buzzards per hour for updating the LetsBuzz Facebook entry with events, reminders, activities and pictures.

Questionnaire to Members:

Discussion on this item agreed that linking topics and using tick boxes where possible would be helpful and adding a question “How did you hear of LetsBuzz?” would be a useful question in helping to grow our membership. (See Publicity below)

Publicity:

It was agreed that this item will now appear on each open meeting agenda. A question will appear on the questionnaire to Members to help us to plan our publicity drive. (See above)

Events:       

Feedback                    Sue (255) and Rosemary (115) were the two members who had been to both recent events: the river walk and MK LetNet Taster Day. Both Rosemary’s and Sue’s husbands accompanied them on the river walk and all had an enjoyable time. Sue had a very pleasant Shiatsu session at the MK LetNet Taster Day. Rosemary has written reports on both events which will appear in the Newsletter.

Forthcoming

Sunday 17 September, 2.00pm - 4.00pm, Plant and garden trading day at Jean's house.

Saturday 7 October, 7.30pm Jane’s and Bob’s house - Wine Tasting. Members bring a bottle of wine and remove or obscure label, but keep details till after sampling.

Friday 17 November meal at the Mevan. Jean to organise this.

December (date to be finalised) Wreath making at Jane’s and Bob’s house.

January (to be finalised) Bring and Share Meal.

Events to be Planned

Janet Stupples has kindly offered to host an event and Jean will respond to accept with thanks.

Sue has found a contact for a Fun Croquet Session.

Newsletter:

Jane is hoping to have the Newsletter ready for distribution by the end of August.

A volunteer is needed to produce the November Newsletter.

Any Other Business:

Member's Handbook update to be discussed at the next Open Meeting.

The automated transactions for the deductions of monthly subscriptions from each active account of 1 Buzzard started on 1.7.17.   Previous Treasurer Report prepared for June 2017 stated that this system yet to be set up. 
We currently have 49 active members on Cyclos which means that each month 49 transactions will go through to organisation account for total value of 49Buzzards in respect of the monthly subscriptions.  These transactions are included in the values shown above for the number of trades during each of the periods given.
